The PI LIVE and co-located Influencer Marketing Show was a blast. You could not pick a better place and time to be. The first day of the event was crowded than expected with over 3000 delegates in London’s iconic Old Billingsgate creating networks, connections and having insightful discussions. Within a span of two days, delegates engaged in discussions about the latest trends, and activities that influence the industry in many ways.

Day 1 of the event could not have gone any better. With no free sits left, the conference kickstarted with the following events:
Affiliate marketing manifesto
Here, three of the most influential personalities in the industry presented their ideas: Awin's Carina Toledo content analyst Robert Davinson set out a new framework for the future of affiliate marketing on the Main Stage. In the Kindred Theatre, influencer partnerships manager Carina Toledo joined Tagger at the Influencer Marketing Show as they discussed the boundaries needed to form when utilizing data in our influencer marketing activity. Acceleration Partners founder and CEO Robert Glazer brought the talent gap into the spotlight as he suggested us to find smart people and bringing them into the industry.
Transformational workplace culture
Keynote session by visionary speaker Ronan Harrington brought maximum attention has he engaged and delivered inspirational advice on the developmental perspective and how this can culturally and psychologically transform workplace culture. Elsewhere, the Digital Disruptors final took place on the main stage as the next generation of talented digital marketers faced the dragons. Also, various interesting networking events were hosted by PI LIVE sponsors Adtraction and Impact.
Measuring affiliate customer value
The afternoon events brought in more flavor to the conference with some key themes that most members in the industry could relate to. CJ Affiliate’s Siobhan Williamson and Blair Birmingham discussed what customer value truly meant for the affiliate channel, sharing actionable tips to businesses to ensure clarity into the right value of each affiliate partner. On The Marin Dome Stage, Startup founders Simon Bird (RevLifter), Emma Bowkett (Convertr Inc) and Mark Smith (Adhoc Media) shared their knowledge and journey on how they began and grew to where they are today in the hub of innovation. Last but not least, Clare and Dan Watt of The Groupon Reach Network closed the show with a reflective review of consumer behavior and the voucher ecosystem.
At the end of such an intensive day, it was only normal for delegates to relax in the oversized yurt for Mix & Mingle over beverages and food.

Day 2 of the conference was as intense and interactive as the former. Delegates enjoyed an eclectic program of panel discussions and relationships and the show broke down more silos into the latest trends of performance marketing. Here are the best highlights from Day 3 of PI LIVE:
Inside insights, diversity and the next generation of affiliate marketing
There were interactive sessions with emerging technology publishers. Talks from LatestFree Stuff, RevLifter and Voz Lab all demonstrated innovation and influences on why they’re transforming the channel. On the mainstage, Tradedoubler CEO Matthias Stadelmeye and country manager DACH, Claudia Batschi Rota broke down the opportunities that are driving the next generation of affiliate marketing.
The issue of diversity was also raised in the Kindred Theatre at the Influencer Marketing Show by Amie Caitlin Shearer’s moderated panel with William Soulier (Talent Village), Nicole Ocran (The Fifth) and Simon Ragoonanan (Hopster). They emphasized the importance of diversity when creating your influencer marketing campaign.
Adding value, media buyers and performance punch
Here, Inclusive Marketing founder and CEO Sarah Bundy delivered a session on the roles of affiliates in the customer journey, understanding the right KPI’s where affiliates add value and sharing a solid checklist of items to test and implement for the coming year.
The second session was delivered by Jason Akatiff about the history of affiliate marketing from blackhat to whitehat. Then the last session of the day saw agencies Rebrain (Alex Major, CEO), NMPi (Max Flajsner, head of performance) and Connexity UK (Jon Lord, VP, business development) team up to showcase the ultimate setup of Google CSS and PLA, demonstrating how we can trigger the right tools and tricks to maximize conversion and ROI in addition to unlocking fresh traffic sources as an affiliate.
Conclusion
This was one of the most electric, energized, and informative conferences we have attended. It was truly amazing. According to statistics, the number of people attending this conference yearly is increasing at a steady rate. As one of the official media partners of the conference, it was a great experience and one which will live in our memory for a long time.
