Meta announced a new set of in-app shopping updates at ShopTalk 2026, including more brand partners in its affiliate program, simpler creator product linking, and more checkout options inside its apps. On the surface, this looks like creator-economy news. In practice, it is traffic news. The more friction Meta removes from on-platform product discovery and purchase, the more serious its own commerce inventory becomes for performance marketers.

For arbitrage, the read is pretty simple. Native commerce traffic is getting easier to package inside content instead of forcing users into a classic ad feel. That usually means better click intent, cleaner funnels, and more room for creator-led or UGC-style execution. Buyers who still think of Meta only as “ads into landing page into offer” are probably missing where part of the inventory is going.
