A new SiGMA panel in Brazil focused on “responsible advertising in the age of algorithms.” For affiliates, that is a warning that scrutiny is moving closer to audience logic and delivery mechanics, not only creative wording.
At BiS SiGMA South America 2026, one panel focused specifically on responsible advertising in gaming and betting “in the age of algorithms.” Another discussion at the same event dealt with combating illegal iGaming through stronger enforcement mechanisms, payment-rail pressure, and more coordinated action. These sessions were not affiliate how-to guides, but they are still highly relevant to affiliate traffic teams because they show where the conversation is moving. It is moving closer to the logic of exposure itself.
For a long time, many performance marketers treated compliance mainly as a question of creative language, licensing status, and a few obvious restricted terms. But when regulators and industry stakeholders start talking about algorithms, indirect promotion, enforcement, and player protection in the same breath, the focus gets wider. It starts to include targeting logic, audience shaping, platform delivery, and the routes by which gambling attention is generated before the user even sees the final message.
That matters because some affiliate strategies still rely on the assumption that softer targeting, indirect framing, or gray-zone audience acquisition will remain easier to defend than direct promotion. The market signals suggest otherwise. Responsible advertising is becoming less of a slogan and more of an operational constraint. Stronger teams will adapt by tightening GEO logic, partner fit, and traffic qualification. Weaker teams will keep treating it like PR language until enforcement catches up. In regulated gambling, that usually happens faster than people expect.
